thanks guys for sorting me out.
pink elephant - thanks for pointing some out but now i'm curious to "why?" how come the top one is not as good as the creature below? just wondering because i can't think out of myself you know. but i find my art going more and more into the shit art i hate. weird that that happens. what i was aiming for was line based stuff that had weird awkwardness to it. and just trying something different. but of course i don't want to stay in this spot forever, just trying to move around( if my art has ever changed anyways :P) but i'll be waiting for your answer it's helpful to have insight from others. if anyone else can tell me why you hate or like my stuff please tell me. i need feedback on what is going "wrong" and what is going "right".thanks guys for taking time. ![]() happy night time. btw pink elephant - about the being weird part. i'm actually kinda good at conducting my body and personal social interaction quite normally. i think. lolo maybe i is creeper? i don't want to be thoughs. but i find myself thinking to myself alot more than saying and doing. may bee that is a bad thing.later guys. ![]() |

Well mainly, when you color with what I assume is watercolor paint or something that resembles it, parts your brush hits twice get darker, but you know that. In the second one, this is ok because it isn't a full scene with a background, and it gives a junglish feel. One the first one, most of it is fine, except the dark blue part behind the character, the effect I described earlier shows all the brush strokes you've made. I think a more even layer would benefit the piece, but that's my opinion.
There's something I find interesting in that I see with the dark blue part of that pic though. It made me notice how the darker part (bottom right) conveys more deepness to the image, in gives it a contrast, and I find that this picture lacks of it majorly, it's all in light colors, and I don't think it works too well. In the crowd pleezer picture, this isn't such an issue, because for one, you've got the stick (crowd pleezer I suppose?) which is pretty much the opposite of of the background, and the monkey face, largely unpainted, gives plenty of rest from the short strokes of the background. Lastly, in the first one, I think the texture on his shirt is the focus in the piece. I'm not sure if it what you wanted to be the focus of the piece, but it seems wrong. Anyway, I gotta go to school, maybe I'll add more to this later. BTW sorry if you can't understand anything, I write in a strange way sometimes. EDIT: Forgot what else I had to write earlier, still, if you don't understand what I said, please tell me, I need to learn anatomy, lines and the proper use of punctuation. I really love all of the experimentation you're doing. Even though you call them "experiments" they have a clear goal and concept behind them (even if its a super simple one), which make them a joy to see. Love it!

thanks guys so much for passing by.
pink elephant - it makes perfect sense, thanks for taking your time. I'll keep that in mind next time when making more flat drawings. the reason i left them all light was because i thought it would flatten the image in a good way, but it needs modification or maybe just doing more contrast to give it more depth as you said. it does become more pleasing with more value ranges and smoothing out a large area such as the background would give nice rest from the rest of the drawing. on the "crowd pleezer" one, the guy thing is actually the crowd pleezer because he always kills his enemy with his trademark cheeto spiked bat and never lets the crowd down with his display of grace and brutality. but no one would know that because i realized i never take the time to make a more dynamic drawing and scene that would more properly allow the viewer a little more substance to play with. I will make a point of this in the future to start creating a more complete image rather than just a anonymous design that does not give a more satisfying reaction. ![]() jigoken - thanks so much for coming in here, i really admire your work and it's really inspirational to me, especially your figure and character stuff. I try to branch out, but i'll try to branch out even more. the concept aspect i feel i still need to work on. for one who thinks alot, i think i don't think deep enough. oh great lol, now i'm thinking about thinking. the human brain and "thought" are strange ones. thank you guys so much for those who comment or just view anonymously. i'm sure every artist feels a little better knowing that what he or she is doing is appreciated by even just one person besides themselves. I sometimes get full with so much doubt about what i am choosing to do, i know i'm not alone in that, and having people comment or even say little cheerful things is so comforting. i have to draw more. thank you guys so much and i hope to post more soon as i get back into things. apologies if i am using weird words and structure, kinda tired and i get almost weird word choice. have fun guys enjoy today and keep makings more art and drawings. ![]() |

Nice, the only thing I ever disliked about you was your name haha. It didn't fit your style anymore so, wise choice.
You're going nicely man, keep it up, I know I'm a fan ;D Oh btw, you could just ask the mod's to change your name aswell, instead of creating a new account. That keeps your postcount intact, if you think that's important ;D |

ha. thank you. i was wondering if anyone else found it kinda awkward too. lol. i have an attachment just cause it's been my id for years but i haven't liked it in forevers. I named my account "animeartist"when i first posted here long ago. it was so generic so i made "animepunk" as in the meaning of someone who doesn't know how to draw anime so well or how i wanted to eventually destroy anime in a dada kinda way and make my own style of it, but i don't think i ever got there and then i started to realize i liked other styles of art more than anime, even though some of the visual vocabulary used in it is still interesting to me and i have no problem watching anime but it's not my focus.
so the name was kinda tagging me psychologically and bothering me, and i finally did something about it. ...well. that was longwinded... btw fshoo, i really like you're art's. i checked out your blogs. |

Oh but that's outdated ;o My sketchbook is more actual than the blog.
So... check my sketchbook :p I'll update my blog soon aswell though. Screw anime, it's ruining all those starting artists. I know I'm delayed because of it :c It was fun though, I've had good times drawing anime characters ![]() |

INORITE? yea man lol. it did delay my progress and it still works its way into my drawings where i don't want any of that stuff. its sad really. but hopefully i can work over it.
![]() and i see alot of artists making the same "mistake". i just hope they learn that there is so much more out there to fool around with. anime is nice but it shouldn't dominate, and especially, like you said, over influence starting artists. i'll make sure to check your recent stuff. ![]() |

Huh weird how one of your accounts says you're 15 (animeartist one) and the other says you're 20 (animepunk one)... I smell something suspicious, but I have yet to find out what...

i'm 20 at the moment. i guess the animeartist account, i just typed in my age at the time instead of setting up the birthday thing. cause i remember it just always stayed the same age.
thanks for making me feel like an old fart. *boo hoo hoo :(* why can't i be peter pan, only a little less ghey? :( lol. so yea i am 20. i don't like saying my age cause sometimes i don't think my art reflects how experienced i think i should be by now. thanks for the research though. ![]() i feel really sick.... got a bad cough and i keep burping for somereason, throwing up a bit in my mouth. sick shit... -.- just woke up too which like ruins daylight time and screws up my schedule. enough whining.. more drawingssssssssssssssssssssss |

I colored this image with watercolor. i sucks at color theory but it looked worse in real life. i tried to color balance it at least a little in PS.
- i cheat - but check out erq and I's sketch exchange. it's only a click away! in my signature. ![]() |
