![]() nice SB organization!
try using a very hard rectangular brush for a couple paintings, very minimal transparency. that might help give your images some solidness |

![]() Nice progress!
For the latest mannikin set, I would suggest working on gesture some more. Before you jump into the structure, make some sweeping lines to show where the action is headed. Don't worry if you make the "arms" too long, or the "legs" look off; structure will come later. Focus on getting the action right. I usually start with the spine, but I know people work differently. I recommend the Proko Gesture video. Be warned, though, there's some light nudity. |

![]() Thanks srilyk, r@nd0m-lamb, and Grieverjoe!
That eye came out way better than it probably should have. It doesn't look "flat" like much of my previous work. I'm not really sure how to reproduce it or the gesture flow, yet, but I'll keep trying. More 5 minute study sketches: ![]() I think next I'm going to attempt ears and practice keeping up gesture flow.

![]() +1 to Joe's Proko gesture video recommendation and focusing on the action first. That's great advice for anybody.

![]() Practice using http://artists.pixelovely.com/practice-tools/ set so each gesture was 30 seconds. Except the very last one which was a minute and a half.
Some really bad face drawings. 30 seconds makes it really difficult for me, but I definitely noticed getting quicker at it each drawing. ![]() However, these are the best gesture sketches so far. ![]() I think I'll start moving up to 30 second warm-ups and then full 1 minute a sketches now.

![]() These are great Espresso! Just a little tip, when you are doing figure studies try to include the whole legs. It will teach you to better control your canvas and proportions
