Default Elani's SB .March 23.

So hey, haven't posted in awhile, and my old SB thread has been dead long enough to stay dead, methinks. And to DA, too much dorama going on IRL atm. If I stay on there any longer, I won't be able to stop posting whiny emo journals. Ever. But I digress.

So...voilà and bienvenue Most of these are pretty old, but bear with me for the time being.

^in art last year we were doing negative space excercises...made me want to experiment a little.

^I started a comic on DrunkDuck, but my account doesn't work anymore. I can log in, but as soon as I click anywhere it logs me out (meaning I can't even go to the forums for help). Btw, can anyone tell what that last pic is supposed to be?

I wish my hands were more elegant.

I'm thinking I should completely ditch "anime" for awhile and go back to basics. Experiment more. And draw more girls. Let's see how long I last, haha

Quite impressive! Much better stuff than I can come up with.

The 'last pic' is a guy in striped pants holding his hand curled in a fist behind his back, I'd say. O-o

EDIT: Oh, wait, no striped pants, he's got a shopping basket.

@WeeRLegion - thanks! You're right. *cookie* I was worried, cause there were a few people who had no idea what it was when I showed them.
@Adakua, Sxey - Thank you

^I was watching the silent film "La Passion de Jeanne d'Arc"...and was completely blown away by Renée Falconetti as Jeanne. The pic fails to resemble her much, but oh wells Great movie imho.

^Guess I just can't leave stylization alone, can I?

^I used to think Roman noses were really ugly, but after looking at like a million Greco-Roman sculptures, they're starting to look kinda elegant, in their own way...

Note to self: practice some full body shots

Takeshi Kaneshiroooooooo~!!! *ogles reference pictures*

Been awhile since I really polished a piece (pencil-wise). Looking at it now, I'm pissed at myself for half-assing the balloon. It fails to be circular!...although her butt makes up for it lmao XD

I really enjoyed looking through this. You have a talent for faces and shading, and the style is both personal and elegant. Keep it up. Also, have you thought of starting a comic/sketches blog on Blogger? It's free, you can make it private or public, takes about five minutes and you can choose a simple template to not distract from your art, like Fshoo did.

@WeeRLegion: w00t, thanks! Glad I'm not the only one who likes it xD

@gold_tangerine: Thanks! That's a very tempting idea, I might consider starting one over the summer. Not that I don't want to, but it's just that I have this terrible habit of leaving things hanging D: I'll post a link when i happens, though (:

Whew. Semester 1 (aka HELL) is finally over. Which means more time for art. Huzzah!

We were supposed to do a "coloured sketch" of a Baroque-style painting, so I went with one of Rembrandt's many self-portraits. I don't think my teacher likes me very much, but the TA likes it (:

@Sxey - Thanks, it was really fun (: I dunno, just this feeling I get. It might be because she caught me drawing an octopus and giraffe at a beach party for one of our composition excercises D:

@m3_freak - You honour me with your kind words

@Kras - I didn't notice that, I see it now. Thanks!

doodling bodiless people in class as usual. The first two are pretty old tho.

An attempt at picturing Keanu as Spike. Didn't really work out.
