Default Chris's Sketchblog

I have a sketchblog that I've been posting to over the last year. It's offsite:

I use OpenCanvas 1.1 (the old free version) to draw many of the sketches, and I generally post the .wpe playback files along with the art in case anyone wants to see how it was done.

If you aren't at work and don't mind psuedoartistic language/skin/suckage, set you can unlock a few more images by specifying your options as "Show ALL images."

There's also an RSS Feed for people who dig RSS feeds.

Some selections of entries already posted:

As a warning, there are some really terrible sketches on the first few pages. I keep them there to gauge how much progress I've made.

C&C is welcome anywhere, at any time. Enjoy!

Just out of curiousity, did you write the software for your sketchblog yourself, or are you using something specific for it? I was debating whether or not to do something similar and thought I would check. I saw your sketchblog a long time ago when you linked it in an old post, so I've had it bookmarked for a while. I'm glad you're still updating.

(i am in no way exaggerating) You are the single best artist I have ever seen online. Consider me your fan(or moral enemy), I am very envious. If I had the ability to use osmosis to stil peoples talents and you so happened to be in the neighborhood I would whatch my back man.
Well Ill asume that you use a tablet to do that with OC.

Thanks, everybody. New entry, finally:

machine-man Thanks, m-m. That was done with Deleter ComicWorks, which uses a modified version of OC's drawing engine but comes with high-dpi screentones.

DN: No one has ever asked me that before, heh. I did write the code for the sketchblog, and periodically add new features (the most recent being the view options function). I've been meaning to roll a user-friendly version with installer at some point and post it to sourceforge.

Hakk: I guarantee you can't osmos anything from me, because that would be gross. But I do use tablet and I do use OC. Now if I could only set up OC and CW so I could use them with a dual monitor setup....

A lettered bonus sketch that's too big to get into to the actual sketchblog:

OpenCanvas 1.1 + Illustrator.

Let me be the first to say...what the...? :p

I'm definitely curious to see what this comic is you're working on when it's done just because the few panels you've shown look hilarious.

Ok, I gotta know, HOW do you keep your images so clean? I am a notoriously sloppy artist. AND I have to know where you learned your perspective and WONDERFUL portraitive skill. I suck at faces TRULY , you make everything pop so nicely. My stuff is decorative at best, but it lacks that "POP" as far as depth goes. What program are you using? Canvas? I am impressed at your wonderful art, *Steals a smidgen of talent* I am taking notes.

Thanks, D. My lines might look clean because I working ComicWorks at 600dpi. In openCanvas, I spend a while cleaning them up.

Some recent stuff:
