hey japanman, nice lines.
what are you using to draw with?
I really like your eye studies, and the linework in that last picture. keep it up!

You've got great imagination, I like the concepts you have up there.

However, your art will improve tenfold if you provide a strong foundation to build upon, so I suggest that you do some realistic studies (of eyes, facial features, muscles, general gestures) to learn what really goes where.

Keep drawing!

Hey I always said i'd comment when you finally made a sketchbook, so here i am

I didn't realize until now how much you seem to prefer ink. The hardest thing to do with ink IMO is to shade, since its all either intense contrasts or a form of hatching/dots. So you might want to start experimenting with shading your ink drawings as to get a head start on that. Check out AZmayu's sketchbook for some awesome inking skills.

www.polykarbonbbs.com/showthread.php?t=3733

You also might want to experiment some with line widths, i like the heavy outline effect you did with the one girl, i often do it myself The most important piece of line width advice I've received came from Broody, its a bit hard to explain in words so i think I'll go and draw it out

Well...looks like i ended up writing it out anyways :/ I hope you understand what i meant there. The objects you intend to be closer to the viewer should have thicker lines then an object behind the character.

You also should study up on some anatomy/proprtion and examine how the body balances, contorts and moves(Like everyone else on pk should also be doing, including me)

I always seem to ramble on with my attempts at being helpful, so if you didn't understand anything just tell me and i will attempt to clarify without sounding like a madman(again).

Keep on drawing, experiment, and have fun

don't get to caught up in emulating any one single artist or style especially akira toriyama. his art is riddled with anatomy flaws among other things. your best bet is to study from real life and then work on a style after you get a solid understanding. I hate to see artists fall into this trap. curse you Toriyama

You have some nice drawings, but i feellike they're almost all the same just with different features.

Kinda looks Katy-cope esc. Which even she would agree isn't a great thing.

I think that you could really benifiet off of some life drawings. Observe people and the way they move and ask yourself why they move that way. And why kinda people move a certain way.

Also, some basic studying of anatomy would also help.

Nice characters though, I'd love to see them being taken to the next level.

First off,I want to say thanks. One of the reasons it took me so long to put some art on here was the fear of getting ridiculed,so i'm thankful for you guys constructive critisism.
Chimp:Thanks for pointing that out,I see what you mean now.

Jeco: I dont really draw toriyama fanart that much anymore. It's just REALLY hard to shake that toriyama influence away.

AmourFonce: I should learn to draw different types of people and realism and stuff like that so i'll give it a try.

Dwee dee(3d):Toriyama Sensei's art is sooooo cool!
NEXT STOP-REALISM AND ANATOMY STUDIES!!!

This is a cover from a comic my friend did a long time ago

I asked him to redraw it,but he was too lazy and only redrew one character.

So I told him I would redraw it for him.But I ended up doing the only one character per page thing too.

You've got some nice clean linework going there and a solid fundamental grasp of structure. I'm just going to say what everyone else on this board says, though. You'd be doing yourself a gigantic favor by going out and getting a life drawing book or two and working on realistic anatomy.

When is this going to happen? I see no realism, or anatomy studies, just more anime and manga characters.

C'mon now, get with it!
