Default Chimp's Sketchbook

---------------------------------------------

I HIGHLY SUGGEST YOU SPARE YOURSELF THE TORMENT OF THESE PAGES, AND SKIP TO THE MOST CURRENT PAGE(for a slightly less horrifying, reverse eye-gasm).

---------------------------------------------

My second sketchbook.

You can also see some eye bleeding good-ness in here, my old sketchbook >> http://polykarbonbbs.com/showthread.php?t=10840

Some of this stuff is a little old:

(SHIMMERING SWORDS LINEART)

The axe guy is the newest, i drew him this morning.

As always, Comments and Critiques.

getting better; much better
on the coloring, use some deeper shadows and, especially on metal, stronger highlights.

post some more anatomy practice; it's coming along nicely buddy!!!

Do you measure proportions when you plan? (if you plan). Because when I started obsessing over measures, I got a lot better.

Your improving a lot, hmm, anatomy studies.

Merhahahahahaah

Thanks for all the comments guys ;D

ssjm- thanks for the tips. I'm starting to understand that the lines usualy dont contradict where the shading should be placed. I'll get some more anatomy studies up next update

nero and Mr.banana- Thanks for the encouragement

Alphaf- I coloured him and made him my profile picture go view :P

ShimmeringSword- I plan my pictures, but i usualy don't measure proportions unless its a piece i plan working very hard on. I suppose i'll start doing it more often

After going through AZmayu's sketchbook for about an hour, i finally realized why my inking is so dull. Basicly, there was not enough line width variation. Even when i did have some, my lines very all very thin, making pictures confusing too look at :P

BEFORE MESSING WITH THICKER/MORE LINE VARIATION-

AFTER-

(Thats carnage from spiderman if ya can't tell :p)

CnC appreciated

Some randomness and folds-

I had some anatomy pages too, but my room is a harsh mistress and they were swallowed in her depths.

i like these newer shades better. I think, for right now at least, the long strokes work very well for you
keep it up

ssjm- Thanks man, im currently torn between going with a heavier dark shading style, or doing more hatching and cross hatching work. I think i might go with the hatching/crosshatching though because it doesn't seem to overly used or popular.

gold_tangerine- thanks for the encouragement, though the shirtless guy was drawn at like 3 am XD

Heres all my work from yesterday-

^^^^ Those two were both character designs for a fc im having with darkmatter. I'm not really sure if should be showing them here before we start

I usually draw more in the later hours, so maybe ill throw more art on the viewers of pk later tonight

Nice char for the FC.
I suggest you get obssesed with proportions. I have a system of measures and scales memorised so when I go to plan a char I am less likely to make the painfull mistakes in measurements.

Shim- thanks I'll now start worrying about proportions and measure them out more throughly(sp?) well i draw.

hollow- I was actually just looking into buying a tablet, so we might be having more oc's sonner then you think! O_o

Well heres all i've drawn today that was worth a post. I had about 3 pages of other random studies and sketches, but they didnt seem worth the post. So here:
