I'm actually thinking of making this a sticky. Even though there's some of these are in the bookmarks in the tutorials and refs section, I don't see why they should be together. It might be nice to have a separate list for inspiration. Oh, and since I'm here, here's another: Ross Campbell: http://www.greenoblivion.com/ [edit] Actually, Wiggle, if you don't mind me hijacking your first post, I might go ahead and edit it and make this a sticky. I think it's a useful thing to have. |

![]() I guess with lots of gallons of coffee each and everyday they have consumed. It's just a way to compete yourself...
bottom line, if you like what you do and you know it's your passion. It really doesn't matter coz you're really enjoy of your work. Don't you think so??? ![]() Quote:

sparth Barontieri Synj! Ian Mccaig and my favorite all time artist syd mead You'll have to look around for his art, but it's the best of design there is imo. He did all the modertech look for Blade Runner and Aliens, and various other movies. Simply bad-ass

![]() Good thread, lots of great artists listed.
Here are some of my favorites that weren't mentioned. All their art can also be found on conceptart.org: Marko Djurdjevic - wicked concept artist, his site is down right now, but it use to be djurdjevic.de. You should still be able to find some of his stuff on conceptart.org forums, as well as a small gallery on the front page. Wesley Burt (wes9000) - His site doesnt have much, but what it does have is great. http://www.wesleyburt.com/ You can find more at conceptart.org Andrew Jones - This guy does concept art for Nintendo, and did major work for Metroid Prime. Couldn't find a site for him, other than the small gallery on the conceptart.org front page. However, here's a link to a forum where he posts self-portraits he does almost every single day! http://www.conceptart.org/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=9 Kevin Llewellyn - This goes does a lot Renaissance-styled work. Warning though, his site contains a lot of nude and cadaver studies: http://www.kevart.com/pages/menu_pg.html Oh and for those who dont know, you can find a number of works by classical artists, with many high-resolution pics over at http://www.artrenewal.org/ Its a really good resource if you're looking to do some master studies. Those are all my favorites that haven't been mentioned so far. Hope you like them. ![]() |

![]() I've always had a soft spot for Mike Mignola's work, ever since "Gotham by Gaslight".
I also like Andrew Bawidamann: http://www.bawidamann.com He does a lot of pin-up style work. And as a third (hard to choose just three), I'll go with Range Murata. I absolutely love the retro-futuristic style he uses in most of his drawings (His book "Re: Futurhythm" was one of the better purchases I've made). |

![]() Bill Watterson does truly rock like nothin' else.
From the East: Hiroaki Samura who does Blade of the Immortal is wickedly good. Especially his pencil stuff. It makes me cry. From the West: Trent Kaniuga. (http://www.trentkaniuga.com) You probably haven't heard of him. He's done some underground books like "CreeD" and also some mainstream such as the recent Ghost Rider miniseries. He also does stuff for Capcom and lots of Anime DVD covers. He is THE man - he's a little like Joe Mad in that he combines Eastern art with Western art but he is way more stylish. Rockin' stuff! |
