![]() It took me about a year of near-constant use for it to become second nature, and mice are still more comfortable for a lot of things like basic internet browsing, half the stuff in Illustrator, etc...
One thing I've noticed: very few of your characters are actually standing on things. Standing, or lying down on, or whatever, on solid ground. Give that a try?

![]() Yeah, the only way to get more comfortable with it is to use it more, haha. But it'll come with time.
Some of the lighting on your more recent pictures looks a bit inconsistent. Have you tried doing a planes study to get more comfortable with your shapes? |

I've definitely done a few studies on different lighting and shadows and that sort of thing but I know I haven't done it enough-

Note that these are a base to get you going. Modifying the planes is how you get different likenesses (pushing, pulling, stretching, etc), but memorizing the basic planes is a good idea. Do a couple studies off of these, and when you feel more familiar with them, try to come up with different lighting and stretch or pinch the planes to see what you get. Good luck. ![]() |

![]() I decided to go ahead and do a quick 'draw this again' thingy so!
Here is my character, Kwang, that I drew in August 2015: ![]() And here he is now, completely redrawn in September 2018: ![]() It's kind of insane what 3 years really looks like-
