The heavy shading under the chin and on the eyes doesn't exactly mesh with the total lack of any greys on her cheeks. Was your light source really that X-Treem? Not knowing what you sister looks like in person, I can't exactly spot any accuracy errors, so I'm going to go out on a limb here and assume that you did a damn fin job of that.

I like the confidence of your lines. I wish more people could have strokes so sure.

I really like it. The only thing I can say is that your hatching techniques aren't conformed, they seem to go every which way, but it still looks good, which is all that matters, hehe. Nice sketch.

One of the keys to realistic drawing is keeping the outside lines (In profile, it's the front of the face) very faint, because those lines don't exist in real life. I do that alot because of my anime drawing habits.
It's a very nice drawing though, exceptional for just a sketchbook piece!

I like it alot. Real nice job.

I hope I'm not insulting you or your kid sister with this, but it looks as if her ear is going to far back.

Default Day 2...

thanks guys,
yeah, i see what you're saying about the harsh shading, outline of her face and the lines all over the place. Keep in mind though as I spend maybe 5 minutes on these I dont intend them to look photrealistic, only to suggest the overall form, something akin to the "Madame X" sketch. Oh, and I think i did mess her ear up...your right i think, it is off...I always get into trouble when trying to judge that distance, grrrrr..... Well, anyways, dont leave my by myself on here! Lets see some of you guys' stuff !

And heres the one for today, some guy in my lit class, took about 2 minutes with a charcoal pencil....

Wow, I like those a lot! It only takes you about five minutes?

You make me want to cut my fingers off...because THEY can't do anything like that! (I'm not too good at drawing.)

Default Day 3...just barely put it up in time

Thanks alot for the comments guys, and I have no idea why i like drawing people with baseball hats, but Ill break the mold with this one. Its a drawing of my manager (go Blockbuster! woohoo!), ummm....I dont think this one is quite as, uh, "delicious" as the other two, something about it doesnt look right to me...but thats your job. Take a look and lemme have it!

i think what looks weird is that the lips look closer to a front-view than 3/4ths. kinda like that part of the face points a different direction. other than that, i think it's awesome. of course, that's my opinion for most artists that are way better than me so... yeah.

I agree with/on Completens coment about the mouth. The lips look like they're trying to look towards us. With the way the rest of the head is, you shouldn't be able to see all of the lips, if you know what I mean.

Other then that, again a realy nice drawning.

I like the one of your kid sister the best. The outline of her face is nice and clean. Nice!

Default Day 4....

thanks all,
yeah, i think its the lips that bother me too...something about that whole side of her face just looks off to me...oh well, try try again.
gonna post this one early today. Its charcoal pencil again, subject is a guy in my art class, I didnt have time to finish it as class let out before i was done so i know stuff like the beard and hair need a little more attention, i spent a little longer on this one, probably a good 10-15 minutes really and thats about it so here you go.

I like that one.. but the shading on his cheeks kind of give me the impression as if he's in motion.. know what I mean? They all go in one direction..

The detail on the ear is great

Hmm, but something looks a tiny wee bit off at the eye.. mabe you should add a tiny downwards curve at the ear-wards edge of the eye (I hope you get what I mean ) to make it more 'in the face'..

But it's hardly noticable.. looks great
