![]() pofo: Thank you, I'll keep that in mind.
Shadow's Edge: Thanks for clarifying that for me. Throughout robot history the concept kind of changes or either its just the terminology, just wasn't quite sure. In Dragon Ball Z, android 17 and 18 are considered androids, but No.18 has a blood and flesh daughter. But thats clearly a human ability, which would make No.18 a cybrog. But I didn't write the rule so I'll leave it be.

![]() Hey, man.
Well, I can honestly say that you are showing some improvement from the time you started this thread and now. That's a very good sign. I do agree that the faces still seem a bit flat. And you have a bit of trouble with proportions (feet a little too small, shoulders kind of skinny and such). But those are things that will work themselves out as you practice. There are these brief moments of genius in some of your drawings where you've done a distorted perspective on the figures. I have no doubt that you are going to be very good before much longer. I would suggest checking out some European artists as your style seems more French than American or Asian. There's a great forum at http://www.cfsl.net/forum that you might check out. (Just like PK some of the artists are not so good but there's a lot of brilliant art there too.) It's in French so I mostly just look at the pictures and drool. ![]() Hope to see more of your work in the future. e.p. Last edited by emmapeel : 01-05-2008 at 07:54 PM. |

![]() emmapeel: Thanks for the encouraging words. I didn't know that my style was French.
Here's another sketch. I thought I post this one to show some of the application I tried to make that pofo and others mentioned. Thanks ![]()

![]() Another set of sketches. The first is all realism study from a newspaper. The second just sketches leading into some character development. I've been keeping your comments in mind, but applying them is difficult. It will take time and practice.
Thanks. ![]() ![]()

Thanks. ![]() ![]()

The ability to give birth doesn't necessarily equate to human-ness; this theme was explored in Armitage III and, to a lesser extent, Appleseed. Also one of life's little tips: Don't use badly translated anime as a definitive source of english language. ![]() |

![]() Here are some more sketches. Sorry about the quality. I drew with a light hand today. I decided to do another 'Robot Coffin' piece; what do you think?
Crits and comments are welcomed. Thanks ![]() ![]() ![]()

![]() Another set to add to the morgue. I thought I try my hand at OpenCanvas. The lady with the giant collar around her neck, came from a Pyramid Head craze. The rest are sketches.
Thanks. ![]() ![]()

![]() Here some sketches and such. Something to keep the cage well-fed. I used sharpen to try to increase the clarity. The first three are Robot Coffin concept art, the other is something else. I forgot the term.
Thank you ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

![]() I think that the 'flat face' thing may be because your noses don't protrude enough. True, not all noses have to stick out that much, but if you made them a tad shorter and pointed outwards a bit more, I think that your faces would be very lovely

![]() It's very interesting. Your sketch look a lot more pro than mine. My sketch book was garbage I had to threw my 1st one away. My advice for you is to start thinking as if form is a volumn, contour and directions. You don't see it but you feel it. Like when i draw the sternol masterio i can feel that it's moving up from the back of the head (behind) and down to the clavicle bones (front). Or when you draw a jaw line connecting to the ears, you feel it moving back into space. Start feeling these things then you will look better.
By the way, i can see you struggle to studies the pelvis region. It's very complicated, but my advice is remember the name of the bones it only has 3: Illium, pubis and ischium. Once you remember their name it'll become easy.

![]() You seem to consistantly place the eyes slightly too far up the face, keep an eye on that (no pun intended!)

![]() When you draw all those faces are you drawing them from a reference or just your mind?
