Default design tips

hey, does anyone know any tips or something that helps you create new designs? i kinda have a massive project where i need to create 20 large ships and 11 small ships (fighters, etc...), right now im using Rorschach's inkblot test's images to help me but im feeling a little... uhh limited

Well give us a little background on the project... Are they realistic ships, used in modern day navy... or do they have a fantasy/sci-fi setting or what?
Best thing to do is to start by gathering lots of reference images. I'm sure someone around here knows a good place to get images of ships.
You won't get very far without a little research, it'll give your designs stronger foundations.

Also you could try Alchemy for generating random shapes, just if your mind is blank and need something to trigger ideas.

its suposed to be sci fi ships in 2 different styles one very rustic and the other sleek and magestic. thanks for the program it looks like its gonna help a lot
