Its funny. Kishimoto has built up so much goodwill with these characters that I don't care that both Pain and Madara's plans revolve around excessive and bizarre means towards world peace. I do hate the fact that by the time Naruto gets his time in the sun it'll be too late (the Pain fight was cool, but too short and he still got busted halfway through). But still I love waiting for the inevitable coming together of Team 7 after all this time. I love seeing the Rookie 9 show up in any way. I just love the universe and the circumstances that they go through don't really bother me too much. Last time I had emotional investment outside of the characters was the Itachi/Sasuke fight. Seemed like the last shred of part one left over. I like Part 2, but not for the situations the characters find themselves in.

Does that make sense?

I could never quit this series now... I've been into it since I was 17 and I'm almost 24. Thats too much of my life checking out the new chapter every week that it would be silly to bow out now.

No, I'm seeing this thing to the end one way or the other.

Sasuke's expression as he rammed his lightsaber through Danzo and the Odaxelagnia lass eerily reminded me of the famous Card Crusher.

Yeah... I'm one of those people who have been reading this damn story for the better part of seven years, and thusly I have pretty much gone through lots of fundamental growing up while reading it.

What I'm getting at is that checking the new chapter every wednesday has become pretty routine and most weeks I don't really care what's going on. But the MOMENT I read and saw thw spoiler pictures for this week's chapter I felt some of that old fandom burst forth.

Team 7, back together. Dear GOD let's hope Naruto doesn't faint from heartbreak, get wtfpwned, cry, get outclassed, get help, etc. This could be Naruto's moment to take back the effing spotlight of his own manga. Awe-some.

Chapter 498: Can anyone elaborate on what is happening in the lower right panel of last page of the chapter.

It seems like Naruto got wood for the spirit of his mom telling him she loves him but i am doubtfull of that being the case since it would be more f*cked up than him evaporating foes with his jutsu's.

It looks abit odd, but if you look at the previous pages, he was sitting on his legs, hes basically just getting up and pulling his shirt.

It will probably be altered in the volume it goes into, the panel does look abit rushed and odd.

The sound effect is translated as "stand" in the one I read, so as flare said, he's just getting up off the ground. The Japanese have all sorts of interesting sound effects, so that probably clarifies it enough for most of them, even if it's confusing to us.

Either way, the panel probably wasn't that necessary or could have been done better.
