How did you do the semi transparency on the outlines of the first image? It looks really good You may not like the image, but I do. The hair falls a bit flat compared to the rest of the image. Very interesting rendering. You're cool What bothers me a little is when you take away all the shiny brushy stuff, the underlying painting is a bit samey all by itself. I think it works, but it's something to keep in mind for the future. Make something exciting happen from top to bottom color and lightness wise.

Is that you in the second image? You are very talented. Post more stuff!

The transparency thing, I had a base layer which was white and a whole drawing on the 2nd layer (Paint tool SAI) and then, when I finished, I converted it into PDF and removed the background from the base layer, or do you mean the blur? I've just selected the drawing and clicked on filter -> blur -> Gaussian blur in Photoshop. The 2nd attempt of the character is here: http://sta.sh/07qdca10f2v with more color variation haha I think. . .

And yes, that's me I'll do my best!

A 40 minute study, I allowed myself to have a tablet for studies because I'm irresponsible!

The face studies are all drawn in less than an hour
And a shiny study. . .

The studies look good, especially the glass sphere. Although the base seems a lot more roughly rendered than the top?

Also for your portrait studies, I feel like you need to use some more not as opaque brushes for some of the rougher strokes. Otherwise they look great.

The cloth patterns seem to be applied a bit flat. I'd think the colors would be slightly different depending on the angle.

You're right I didn't think of it much, though I tried drawing this as fast as I could to improve my speed and I'm not used to drawing clothing at all

Great job on the portrait too. I love the value control. Maybe you could try pushing the shadows a bit more, but that may depend on the reference. I am so jealous
