![]() Fiend, can I call you brother like Liquid does to solid? Those are pretty much my favs, with some additions not worth mentioning. I agree with the Shirou statement, however I was reading the Intron Depot books and he gets commissioned to do alot of those kinda works for magazines and such. Anyhoot, those be my 3.

![]() hehe, I know that artist Figurefour. She is quite reknown among artists here in Denmark. She has a gallery on a danish site called Tegnebordet.dk where she goes by the name Stitchdolly. Really superp things she draws.
My own favorites: www.Anry.ru This dude simply paints the most awesome stuff with painter. Almost started bleeding out my eyes when I watched his video of painting Tyrael. http://www.hyung-taekim.org/ This dude draws the most awesome Manwa I've ever seen in terms of original clothing and char design. www.Joemadfan.com This is the über dude of penciling. He succesfully combines the exaggerated style of manga and the classic american superhero style. The results is without comparison and his work on X-men, and his own comic Battlechasers, bear witness to the awesomness of his skills. Whew ![]() |

![]() I can never choose favorites very well, so here's just some stuff I like.
A bit Western: Craig Mullins: http://www.goodbrush.com/ Justin Sweet: http://www.justinsweet.com/ James Jean: http://www.jamesjean.com/ (does cover artwork for comics like Fables) A bit Eastern: Eiji Kaneda: http://www.din.or.jp/~c-o/gallery/gallery-Top.html falcoon: http://falcoon.hp.infoseek.co.jp/ Hirai Yukio: http://www.alpha-net.ne.jp/users2/yukioh/index.htm I could also kiss figurefour for that link, but I won't since I don't know where he's been. It always surprises me sometimes how good some of the artists are posting on deviantart, but I hardly ever browse through there since it's just so damn slow. ![]() Wow Cruiser, you weren't kidding about Anry, pretty awesome stuff... I think I did loose sight for just a bit :P Anyways, I gotta agree with DN, now that I think of it. I really don't have a favorite. The only time I do is when I get inspired by a certain artist, or am in a certain mood. Thanks for the links guys, its cool to see other people's art favs.

![]() I really don't have a favorite either. I could easily name off 10 others that consistently make my jaw drop as well (many of which have been mentioned by you guys). The point, though, was to share 3 (preferably ones that haven't been mentioned) so that everyone can hoggle their stuff.
You can never have too much art. ![]() ![]()

![]() I'll throw out my other two then.
http://bordon.deviantart.com/ - has recently impressed me, so I'll throw it out there. He draws on phone book pages. How cool is that? And I'll give my last shout out to Rey of http://www.ninjarage.com because no one else seems to like him. On a more or less unrelated not, even I don't know where I've been.

![]() Kaoru Shintani-Gives my neglected fave 50s-80s fighter jets some LOVIN! THEE master of manga aircraft. No don't bring up Shoji Kawamori, yes I love his work but he does not do manga, he does valkyrie designs and other mecha designs for Gundam 0083 and this new series with a robot surfboard guy. Shintani made a cool cartoonish style but it was pretty obvious this guy knew his stuff when it came to fighter planes. And his stories for Area88 RULED. So different. So awesome. So screwed over for a main character. I LOVE IT!
Jack Kirby- Okay yea the king, but he ruled seriously. I look at his stuff now and am still very impressed by how his stuff was simple compared to now, but also how it is still very relevant and superior than most of the comic work I see today. i only wish he was still alive so I could learn from him in person. Adam Kubert- During my middle school years, my art style was VERY VERY inspired by this man. i still love his work. I will never forget it. No links for now since I forgot and most of the Shintani sites go down a lot. For those who played UN squadron on SNES, it was based on the Area88 manga and OVA. The new anime series is different but still pretty cool.

![]() I like Rembrandt for his lighting and auras. Alphonse Mucha, for his keen sense of layout. Who can forget mother nature? (Runs up and hugs a tree)
Looking at all these artist's works, makes me wonder how many nervous-breakdowns were endured or gallons of coffee comsumed to achieve their level. Mmm...wouldn't this thread be better suited in the member's lounge? |

![]() I think if this thread had stayed as a collection of resourse links, it would be better suited to here. But everyone just wants to chat.
