Alchemy is a program used for the initial stage of drawing, rather than completing the picture with it. It's supposed to be a bit experimental and intuitive. Give it a try, I'd say.

OPEN CANVAS 1.1 PROBLEM.

This is what OC looks like for me if I save it from here...
If I simply run it, it's normal. but I can't save anything, so if there's an error or my computer freezes, i'll lose my work.

blackrockshoota: in case you dont know already, top right on the menu is 'help', and under 'help' is an option to switch the text to English. That's the first time I've heard of a save problem...do you mean that hitting ctrl-s or clicking on 'save' in the menu doesn't save the file?

Now whenever I try to draw in OC, it like... draws in a different place. Like I'll move my mouse on the right side but the lines will appear on the left side.

Anyone got any 2D animation programs you can actually draw in? The robotmonkey thing you can't draw in, and the other animation program someone posted is horribly pixelly... You basically draw with huge blocks of pixels.

mypaint: http://mypaint.intilinux.com/ <-- A kind of Painterly program. Runs very well under linux, I've played a bit on my windows box, too.

Yep, Colors DS is forkin brilliant. Plus the playback option is too sweet. Before Colors, I didn't even realize DS was capable of pressure sensitivity.

Yup, well most of it, there's a version out for ipod touches but they're pretty much the same, I think ipod has better resolution though.

I have a free software called StickMan3D

It is basically a 3D virtual stick man. You can change the size of all its bones. You can drag the bones around to set the posture you want. You can zoom, pan and rotate the stick man. When you are happy you can take a screen shot and use it as a guide for drawing manga, anime, cartoons etc.

It is completely free to use. It loads in your browser.
