yep, Im trying to get back to the very basics, and I hope to renew my style and everything Ive been doing. Like Im hitting refresh.
I would try rendering simple geometric objects using either: line (measuring to make sure its even and straight and the perspective is dead on), light and shadow (getting it as close to your reference as possible), or color (this is a bit harder as I still cant get it right). For color things like temperature of the light source, where the object is and how light bounces from it and to it from other objects, what texture it is (whether its reflective or not), what hue and tone it is, is the scene over saturated, is there atmospheric elements (fog, hot air distortion, etc...) and other things. Just really nail down the basic objects. hope that helps
