I haven't done much 3d stuff lately Dwee. Figures for publications and my thesis mostly, and those have tended to be fairly simple renders to illustrate a particular geometry or structure...

Don't let it discourage you. Just add a point to your workflow and carry on. Somewhere after sketching, but before rendering, it's a good idea to just sit back and consider what the light situation...
