Read First: New art icons.

We've decided to merge Black and White with Color Art. In order to organize the forum better there are new Post Icons for the kind of art you're posting.

Here they are:

Color Art. If you are posting anything with color, then select this icon.

Black and White art. Select this for anything that's greyscale (except lineart).

Lineart. If you are posting an unshaded or uncolored drawing then select this.

This is for when you post multiple images of different types. If you're posting something that's colored as well as something else that's black and white then select this.

These are REQUIRED!

Please use these from now on. Its the first thing you select when creating a new thread, so you cant say you missed it. If the your image changes and doesnt fit the right icon anymore then you can always edit your post and change the icon.

whoa, those are pretty funky, maybe they could be a little simpler, but w/e
it's all good

moof 04-04-2006 09:41 PM

simpler? They're not too hard to pick up on at all...

Melch 04-04-2006 11:39 PM

Shnazzy idea. I was wondering what they were for. Totally makes sense now :D

Why can't they all be round? :/ Or square?

I just think the forum would look nicer if the icons were all the same shape.

I also think the rainbow gradient icon clashes a bit with the graphic look of the forums.

Just my 2 cents, I can live with both of those.

The lineart icon is my absolute favorite of these.

Nothin but looooooove for the idea dudes. Nice job mods :D.

Critiquing the user icons?
...
...
sure.
whatever, they work.
I do prefer this to the two seperate sections, streamlines looking at everything, and still keeps it categorized.

you guys can't be pleased!

It's a good idea in my opinion. :)
But I agree with Traum4, it might looks a little strange with the rainbow colors on the more or less gray-scaled forum design.
Well, well, it's a matter of taste I suppose...

the shining 04-05-2006 08:20 AM

cool! sounds like a great Idea to me.

malignant 04-05-2006 08:48 AM

I'm just glad people won't be mis-posting as much anymore... Myself included. So what if they look a little thilly, I think they're cute. Yay mods.

I have to say i dont realy like these icons.Like traum4 said they are all too diferent from eachother.Hope you dont mind but i have a suggestion on how they could/should look ....hope you take it in to consideration

MickMad 05-02-2006 02:15 PM

hey I think Gordon's right, the icons he made are sure more similiar each other, the icon i don't like is the strange halfround-halfrectangle one for the multiple art types...but that's ok, icons are good to distinguish everything

Diegator 07-23-2006 03:01 AM

Whoa, it's been a long time! Fancy new look every time I log in. I like gordon's icons, but the ones in place don't bother me either.

BlakFlame 08-20-2006 04:12 PM

thats a good idea .. I join the ppl who said that the icons needs some modifications ..I think I only dislike the "multiple images" icon :s

circules are too smooth.. squres too many angles..
I like triangles :P ... (nice work gordon)

TKN 08-21-2006 09:53 AM

i actually enjoy the current icons o.O

common PK, all you gotta to is hover the mouse over them if u forget wat they are lol ;)

but yeah the multiple image one's gotta go haha xD

Yuri Kolovsky 10-11-2006 03:08 PM

hmmmm... I don't care, all looks the same to me. But a little color on the icons won't do any harm. and I agree with the same shape thing.

srilyk 07-17-2007 07:47 AM

Er... just a little something I've noticed is for black and white is for text... I notice those get confused a LOT

john-briner-art 06-15-2011 02:59 PM

Oh well, this new art icons are very helpful and good! :unibrow:

Phl 06-15-2011 04:26 PM

Seriously? Did you not see that the last post was written in 2007?

They aren't quite new now.
