lamb's dump

since I lost my old sketchbook (I wasn't searching a lot but anyway)
I decided to start a new one.... i wanted to start with awesome art, but unfortunately I'm not that far. Anyway in order of suggestions I'm starting earlier.
Spoiler:

finished today (It is not that finished but anyway)

a really bad attempt at water.
Spoiler:

superduck.

an unfinished animation of bitey (from www.biteycastle.com )

going merry from one piece.

an almost unnoticable animation of cat-face (from www.weebls-stuff.com )

a screenshot from my animation (unfortunately I ended up like in 10% of the piece...I do not have time at all, animating is really time consuming.

another adobe flash drawing.

the girl's skin is a bit saturated giving her the common orange skin syndrome that some artist tend to do. also you appeared to have botched the lighting on her right arm.

i agree :D the truth is- I suck at coloring.(doing lot of stuff with skin experimenting to bend things right)

it is because the lightning was supposed to go from both sides...but I failed.

lamb-dump (100 paintings <1/100>)

ok I decided to do an excercise. It's pretty similar to some ongoing in the sketchbook sektion. I'll do 100 paintings :)

First time I have checked out your work, and I'm quite impressed. I think you have a really nice solid base to work off, and if you work hard at some of the technical areas you will improve drastically in no time at all.

Keep it up.

Lamb 08-09-2008 08:21 AM

Oh Thank you ^^. I hope that from now on you'll hop in more often.

srilyk 08-12-2008 09:00 AM

Nice.. I'm looking forward to the whole 100 paintings! :D

One crit on this one: explosions (especially ones involving fuel, and during the day) tend to have some black smoke not just rising out of the explosion, but like this
Spoiler:

or this
Spoiler:

Just a nitpick though :P

Lamb 08-12-2008 10:24 AM

It was referenced I cannot do anything about how it was there (its a scene from the movie Catch 22)

but thanks anyway.

srilyk 08-12-2008 11:37 AM

Ah... well in that case, just keep on keepin on ;)

Lamb 08-16-2008 05:27 PM

I haven't been drawing a lot this week...and what is more I do not have even a reasonable excuse...shame on me...but today was productive. Started 2 paintings (one posted below) and did some studies. :P
Spoiler:

2/100

Lamb 09-01-2008 12:18 PM

one new painting and a mecha O_o am really curious what our mecha experts think about it (I's a sketch with errors bu anyway)

(I'm doing really slowly. With this tempo I'll have the 100 finished in something more than 2 years. But I don't mind. I actually don't like painting as much as sketching/drawing but I want to produce awesome art so that I'll have to do this. Anyway 3/100

Lamb 03-14-2009 03:45 PM

This was a long long break. Since christmas or so I was so not in the mood to draw or paint anything. But hope that now I am on it again. All my pencils got lost by the time, I found some but they are totally crap. I will have to go visit the pencil shops. One picture so far... and my 100 paintings are still ongoing but what there are only 97 left that should not be much of a bother to finish these. (and yeah I used CK's vivid layer trick on this one... thanks.)

Lamb 04-11-2009 01:22 PM

most probably no one is going to take a look although I consider myself average (not among artists naturally) and that is a curse. But I'm posting this piece to be once again closer to the 100. Even if only a little.
Spoiler:
heavily inspired...but all drawn by myself and I'm not making money of it.

Lamb 07-01-2009 12:56 PM

update.

5/100

6/100

hanzozuken 07-01-2009 01:15 PM

you got some really quirky designs going on there, i like it alot. and i like your color palette on some of them. keep up the good work.

srilyk 07-01-2009 01:23 PM

I want to know what the hidden one that's no longer on photobucket was :P

Also, I enjoy your art. Nothing specific, it's just good stuff.

Lamb 07-01-2009 01:28 PM

the spoiler image :D :
Spoiler:

thanks to you both for the comments. They mean a lot to me. Really my sketchbook gets scarcely a visit. I could get used to it though.

hanzozuken 07-01-2009 01:42 PM

well im trying to be more active as of late in the community given out proper crits if i can, im still a budding artist myself so i know how much it helps to hear good honest feedback. and that last picture is awesome, wonder why photobucket took it off?

Billov 07-01-2009 01:48 PM

Lovely stuff, you've got a good sense of space and depth. And keep going at the coloured pieces. That last one has some really nice colours in it, especially the nose and eyes.

I like the girl in post #12. Very sweet haircut and individual face. You're right, this sketchbook needs much more feedback and encouragement man. Especially if you wanna reach that 100 images :D Keep it up.

I was thinking of doing the 100 pics in 100 days thing... but it just won't happen. I'll try to keep motivated though :S

ssjmvegita 07-01-2009 06:23 PM

yes, the girl in post 12 is awesome! your line work is very smooth and tight. i like it a lot.

one suggestion. work on your knowledge of clothing and where the folds should occur. also, your coloring is improving a lot. the 100 paintings idea will help you greatly. just keep working at it and keep posting!
