djizomdjinn's late night sketches
Might as well start one...

Inspired by Hellsing, specifically Walter C. Dornez's razor sharp wires.

** Hmm... I seem to have lost this drawing somewhere in cyberspace... **

Light combat/stealth suit design.

Gasp! I finally drew a guy!

Alex J. 10-18-2007 04:32 PM

Wow. You are very good like the guns you made and the smoke coming out of them!

djizomdjinn 10-24-2007 11:11 PM

An attempt at foreshortening...

Yay! 600th post!

djizomdjinn 08-24-2008 10:21 PM

Well, I haven't touched this in about... roughly a year...

Well, might as well revive it.

Attempt at marker-styled digital coloring.

A stab at 3d graphics.

Different poses...

Armor, and more armor.

And most recently, a digital/colored pencil hybrid.

srilyk 08-25-2008 05:22 AM

Nice stuff... I think I remember each one of those original threads from this last post ;)

I like the coloring on the nexus chick.

djizomdjinn 09-19-2008 08:24 PM

Drawing too much of the same guns/armor is really stifling my creativity.

*stretches brain*

This is a new drawing of a very old idea I had... from a sketch exchange, I think.

djizomdjinn 10-22-2008 06:19 PM

Sigh. Online gaming is addicting.

My signature for my forum account over at SCHTSERV.

My very first contest entries!

I didn't win anything... but at least I finally entered a contest!

Dangit, the crossbow image won't resize properly...

hanzozuken 10-22-2008 07:35 PM

your faces need work. they show no emotion what so ever and the shape and size in proportion with the body makes it seem wrong. your attention to detail is noteworthy.

ShimmeringSword 10-22-2008 11:47 PM

Gota agree with hanzo. After so much time has passed your faces haven't really gotten much better. Go out and look at faces, also look at how others stylize (or try not to style) faces. It would really add more character to you work.
Your design skills are improving though, good job on that.

djizomdjinn 01-11-2009 01:33 AM

....I've improved!

...or so I like to trick myself into thinking.

Haven't touched this SB for the better part of a season... o.O

The armored cap doesn't make any sence as helmet isn't simply designed to provide imidiate protection against fast traveling shrapnell but it also has to negate the forces that effect it even if the shrapnel did not penetrate. Without a helmet liner acting as a buffer the effect to the skull would be like being hit with a sledgehammer if not worse. The ballistic vest is bit to light for stopping rounds that is if she is wearing any as i am uncurtain if there is one or not, the magazine pouches seem bit to narrow. On pants kneecaps is waste of good pants.

I'm to lazy to give proper crits on the rifle so will just point out like in your previous thread the lack of space for the shiznit(bolt assembly, recoil spring, etc) in the buttstock behind the magazine. A good measurement would be that behind the magazine there should be space for about two more magazines.

Her left upper arm is to long, same hands wrist seems a bit flat and a bit to small. Her right wrist is defenetly to small. Her elbow should be visible approximately at the point where the silencers groove is. Her left leg seems bit disjointed as result of it actually being thiner at upper thight than it is at the knee.

The pose is a bit odd because of her being left handed but legs stance being suitable for right handed person. The way she is now her weight redistribution is at the back when it should be to the forward to balance out the recoil and the way it is now it would be quite uncomfortable.

ShimmeringSword 01-12-2009 02:22 AM

Haha kras, your so hard core, but I agree on the points.
All I was going to point out was the rifle receiver space, but kras got that too. IMO with a compacted receiver system you could get away with 1.5 mag lengths behind the mag (who knows, its the future right).
With a bullpup you also need to make provisions for case ejection that wont hit you in the face (even with caseless ammo, thats always a terrible excuse i see people use, as you need to eject foul rounds and any final chambered round after the time for shooting is over).
Nice light loadout design though. And I'm still looking for nicer faces.

djizomdjinn 01-22-2009 09:07 PM

Ha ha, Kras, Shim, I guess you guys both caught the fact I didn't put much thought into the rifle... I really need to fire a real gun sometime, to feel what it's really like.

I was just freesketching late last night... and it just edged closer and closer....

djizomdjinn 05-05-2009 06:25 PM

Digipaint crap...

djizomdjinn 07-28-2009 02:32 PM

...dang. I really keep on forgetting about this. Well, it's always good to have a record of stuff to look back on.

First of all... a personal project I've been working on with a few friends. Concepts, so I haven't bothered much with checking anatomy, just clothing designs.

And a b/g quickie.

Unrelated. Still not as dramatic as I want it to be, though.

killAndrew 07-28-2009 09:04 PM

hey nice stuff:]i like your style its diffrent:]keep it up.

Yomoma976 07-29-2009 12:15 AM

GOD <3 your stuff! you are a master of the gun stuff =P................................................ and on another note agreed with the online gaming thing!

djizomdjinn 10-20-2011 08:15 AM

Two years later...

Well, I know the rule about necroing old threads, but I think it'd be interesting to see improvements in two years, no?

Idea for a uniform thing. Trying to figure out how to make IRL.

Currently WIP: http://www.polykarbonbbs.com/showthread.php?t=27189

Face practice "speedpaint" (not really speedy)

Tentatively finished school project

Devonition 10-20-2011 08:34 AM

DUDE you have improved A LOT. I almost thought you were two different people XD

djizomdjinn 11-06-2011 04:15 AM

Two years through college pursuing an art degree will do that to you. ;) Especially if you were virtually self-taught until then.

Latest iteration of the uniform thing.

A new life for a four-year-old image.

I think this might be the start of rehashing old images. I felt a lot more imaginative then... too much mode-lock nowadays.

EDIT: Before I forget, composition test for the "Overwatch" redo. If it ever gets beyond composition.
