Custom brushes links

Post links for custom brushes here, be it Photoshop or Painter. Hell, you can even post your OWN custom-brushes if you have some to share! (try hosting here if you need space)

So why custom brushes? Photoshop's standard brushes will take you far and they are very good, but there are tonnes of brushes out there that might simplify or speed up your workprocess.

For example: fur. Its a tedious job to paint by using the single dot. A simple combination of 5 rowed dots and the right brush-settings (angle jitter) speed up the whole process and might even make the end-result look better.

For your viewing pleasure, I will keep editing this post with new links. But don't get mad whenever I dont update! Anyway, to start with:

It seems DeviantArt (I know, many of you dispise it) has a resources and brushes section. I think with a little time and searching it could be véry usefull to anyone.

Hmmm this is a swell Idea...you should PM Captain Dub, he wwanted to know what RobLG brushes are, and also I think he hcan contribute a lot to this thread...he uses lots of freakish brushes.

I'm using CS2. Maybe they don't work on 7?

Alphaf 04-12-2006 09:33 PM

dam...prolly wont...then its time to install my oh so legal copy of CS2(:ugh: ) and let my older 7.0 rest in peace.

hezzart 04-14-2006 04:17 PM

Well, if you are using PS 7.0 you might aswell upgrade your version. Almost everything these days is made for CS.

In case anyone cares I installed CS and installed RobG's brushes...work like a charm. But I hate how you cant change the "undo" mode in CS...Im so used to using CTRL+Z for undo and CTRL+Y for redo...gonna have to work around that now =/. Rob's brushes seem awesome tho.

You can change the shortcuts to anything you like in edit->keyboard shortcuts. I'd imagine "step forward" and "step backward" would be what you look for.

I don't see the RobG ones, where on the site are they?
I think they're gone y'know :( apparently there was a site revamp on the 24th of the 4th 06, shortly after this thread kicked off.
Anyone care to share?

Makkon 07-18-2006 08:48 AM

NO 5te! No one is supposed to know about those brushes! Do you know what you have done? You've unleashed a wave off custom brush abuse for hundredes of generations.

Jeanox 07-18-2006 09:24 AM

I like custom brushes. I wouldn't recommend them to people just getting started in PS, just because like anything they can be abused and quite overused. However, just because you use custom brushes doesn't mean you don't have skill.

Steasaurus 07-19-2006 06:08 AM

Since I'm rarely happy with anything I do and pretty much never post pics I can't be accused of abusing anything... except the freedom of game playing at work ;D

Anyone care to share the RobG brushes though?
